Do you ever raise your voice without thinking about it, just to make a point?
I did that last night, and I was left with my ear feeling bruised and wondering what I had done.
The worst part? It was over something that didn’t matter AT ALL!!!
The spirit of contention is STRONG right now!!
So, how do we fight back??
Well, I reached into my store of “Eternal Communication” Playlist where I put this gem by President Gordon B. Hinckley!
Here’s the quote, but you REALLY need to listen to or watch President Hinckley give this talk!!
Multiple times even!!
“I plead with you to control your tempers, to put a smile upon your faces, which will erase anger; speak out with words of love and peace, appreciation, and respect.
If you will do this, your lives will be without regret. Your marriages and family relationships will be preserved. You will be much happier. You will do greater good. You will feel a sense of peace that will be wonderful.”
Read, listen or watch him give this talk here:

Re Anger: There is an abundance of things that press on us to react with anger. The counsel from President Hinckley is solid and is given to help us choose happiness. This allows us the spirit to dwell with us. To give in to anger is to be mired in the worst trap satan can lay for us.

You are so right! And that Spirit (of contention) is so active and loud right now!!! We have to be louder with our testimony and caring and love!

It is hard sometimes to control anger when all that negativity and pain gets full . Anger isn’t random but caused by long term abuse of a persons goodness and kindness , it reaches a point of enough is enough , then it explodes . I agree, smile despite of, be slow to anger, step back before we say or do things we will regret.

So true. This episode was a sign of things to come, unfortunately.
